Rick Santorum on Sunday faced protesters during an outdoor rally at the state Capitol in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the AP reported.

Santorum, a strong opponent of gay rights and in particular gay marriage, was disrupted for about 20 minutes by a group of Occupy Wall Street demonstrators.

When the Republican presidential hopeful asked the crowd for a “big win” on Tuesday, the crowd attempted to drown out Santorum by screaming “Get your hate out of my state” and “Racist, sexist, anti-gay, zealot, facist, go away.”

Supporters yelled back “We pick Rick. We pick Rick.” The shouting made Santorum barely audible. (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)

Santorum later addressed his detractors, suggesting they were unemployed.

“Something that maybe these folks over here could get something in, maybe working a little bit instead of coming to these events and screaming at people,” he said.

A group of Occupy Wall Street protesters also drowned out Santorum last month during a campaign event in Washington state which took place on the same day that Governor Chris Gregoire signed a gay marriage bill into law.
