A Kansas City printer has refused to
fill an order for t-shirts for a Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) club.
According to the Kansas
City Star, Rod Lindemann, the owner of Rod's Sporting Goods
in Blue Springs, refused to print shirts for the GSA club at Blue
Springs South High School.
The shirts were to include the message:
“Why is it that as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two
men holding guns than holding hands?”
Lindermann said he refused the order
because it would feel like he was condoning gay marriage.
“Marriage is ordained between a man
and a woman,” he said.
“I am a man who walks my faith. God
calls me to love all, but he doesn't call me to be comfortable with
things that I don't see as God-pleasing,” he added. “I won't
sell out for a dollar.”
Seventeen-year-old Bailee Webb, the
president of the GSA club at Blue Springs South, said she was
disappointed with Lindermann's decision. The group found another
printer to fulfill the order.
