Drag queen superstar RuPaul crashed the
New Hampshire primary scene over the weekend, telling fans not to
confuse him with Ron Paul.
“I want you to know that I am not Ron
Paul,” RuPaul told a crowd when he visited campaign staple the Red
Arrow in Manchester.
“I am RuPaul and I am not running for
president,” he told the crowd, who let out a disappointed sigh.
The host of all-gay cabler Logo's
RuPaul's Drag Race made his appearance wearing a light blue
suit and a tasteful black cap.
“I have a message for Ron Paul and
all the other Republican candidates: If you don't love yourself, how
in the hell you gonna love anybody else? Can I get an amen in here?
You better voter!” (The video is embedded in the right panel of

RuPaul added that his appearance was
not a cheap publicity stunt for his reality show.
“I want you to know that this is NOT
a cheap publicity stunt. I flew here first class!”
RuPual told Reuters
that he's not a political person by nature, but dressing in drag is a
political act.
“I do believe that every time a man
puts on a wig and a pair of cha-cha heels he is making a political
statement,” he said.
