The Nate Berkus Show has been
canceled after two seasons, Broadcasting
and Cable reported on Friday.
“After careful consideration, we have
decided that The Nate Berkus Show will not return for a third
season in the fall,” said Sony Pictures Television and Harpo
Studios in a joint statement. “We are grateful for the hard work
and heart that Nate, [Executive Producer] Corin Nelson and their
entire team have poured into the show and we're very proud of what
they've delivered.”
Berkus added: “I'm incredibly proud
of my hard working and talented staff, and proud of the show we were
able to produce every day.”
The 40-year-old Berkus, an interior
designer by trade who became a television personality offering design
advice to viewers on The Oprah Winfrey Show, premiered his own
makeover-heavy talk show in September of 2010, becoming the first
openly gay man to host a nationally syndicated daytime talk show.
Speculation about the show's future had
been fueled by its low ratings.
The syndicated show's second season
will remain in production until the spring and all scheduled original
episodes will be delivered.
